01 Full Scalp SMP

The signature treatment.

A complete, freshly-shaved look, including a new hairline drawn freehand for your face. The most-requested treatment at the studio, and the one most clients fly in for.

Three sessions, spaced roughly two weeks apart. We design the hairline, build the density to match, and refine the natural irregularity of a real shaved head. The result is permanent and indistinguishable from your own hair follicles.

02 Density Fill

For the hair that's still there.

For thinning crowns, mid-scalp, or general loss of fullness, without shaving, without touching what you already have. We work pigment between and beneath the existing hair to restore visual density.

This is the treatment of choice for men who keep their hair longer, and for clients who want to extend the life of an earlier transplant.

03 Scar Camouflage

Disappearing the past.

Hair transplant scars. Strip scars from FUT. Accident or surgical scars. We carefully match pigment to the scar tissue and the surrounding scalp, then blend the boundary until the eye can't find the edge.

This is the most technically demanding work we do. Chris is one of the few SMP artists in the world other artists refer their own scar cases to.

04 Alopecia Treatment

Built for every form.

Alopecia areata, totalis, universalis, traction. Chronic, sudden, or scarring forms. We've treated nearly every case the condition can present.

The work begins with the honest consultation. Some cases are perfect for SMP. Some aren't yet. We tell you the truth, then build a plan around it.

Women's SMP for female hair loss at The Art of SMP
05 Women's SMP

Density for women.

Female pattern thinning. Postpartum loss. Traction alopecia from braids and extensions. Density work for women is its own discipline: softer placement, lower density, blended into hair that's worn long.

The studio is a calm, private environment. The consult is the conversation, not a sales pitch.

The Process

How it actually works.

Step 01

Consultation

Free, thirty minutes. By phone or in person. We assess your scalp, talk through goals, and give you an honest answer about whether SMP is right for you.

Step 02

Design

We map your hairline freehand. Photograph it. Refine it together. Nothing permanent happens until you've seen exactly where every line will sit.

Step 03

Session

2–4 hours per session, 2–3 sessions total, spaced roughly two weeks apart. We apply pigment in micro-dots, building density gradually for the most natural result.

Step 04

Forever

The work is permanent. With basic aftercare it looks the same in five, ten, twenty years as it did the day you walked out. We stay in touch for life.

Common Questions

What people actually ask.

Q.

Does it hurt?

Less than a regular tattoo. The scalp has fewer nerve endings than most assume. Most clients describe the sensation as a firm tap. Numbing options are available if needed.

Q.

How long does it last?

SMP is permanent. Like any tattoo, it fades gradually. Most clients see noticeable softening three to five years in, depending on skin type, sun exposure, and aftercare. It won't disappear, and a short touch-up session refreshes it whenever you want.

Q.

Will people know?

Only if you tell them. The whole point of the work is that it looks like a real shaved head. Every tilt, every angle, every lighting condition.

Q.

Can I keep my existing hair?

Yes. We work between and beneath your existing hair for density treatments. Many clients keep their hair longer post-SMP. It actually looks fuller when blended with the pigment underneath.

Q.

What if I don't like it?

You won't be in that position. The consultation, the design phase, and the first light session all happen before any permanent density is built. By the time we're committing, you've already approved it.
